I purchased Cheryl's book about my beloved Marineland from Barnes & Nobles. It has a wealth of photos of the world's first oceanarium but the narrative was lifted right out of Ralph Nading Hill's 'Window in the Sea'. There are also inaccuracies . . . the funniest blooper is the caption underneath the photo of long-time Marineland employee Tom DeVoe feeding a pygmy sperm whale that was rescued from a stranding. The caption reads that the whale was brought to Marineland September 2, 1958 . . . Tom DeVoe was a little boy then. Also, the book says Marineland's blonde dolphins were captured by the Marineland collecting boat. These animals were purchased from a shrimp fisherman in the Florida panhandle.

My husband and I just returned from Key West with a Poinciana seed pod given to us by Mr. Chapman. Our encounter with him was one of surprise and great delight. All it took was a question about the Grand tree with the huge seed pods dangling from it's limbs. "It is a Poinciana" and he disapeared behind his house and returned baring a seed pod as a gift to me. I collect seeds. He was interested in my wanting to know about the plants in his yard and he took us on a tour. We met his Grandson and a neighbour girl who promply introduced herself. Mr. Chapman is not just the guy on the well lit and musical tricycle, who travels up and down Duval Street in Key West, he is the kind of person who takes you in, loves you, and gives hope for a better world.

I suggest that you answer your phone instead of sending customers to a voicemail. You have a great brick oven pizza but ther is no menu online to access to order for carry out. This could be a huge business for you. Also, I suggest a vegitatian pizza to includ fig and gorgonzola cheese for a new pizza option - It is a fabulous tast of sweet and bitter and goes well with wine or beer. Salute!

What a pretty cat! I was just clippin fur balls of my maine coon girl Poppie. She is huge. I can hardly pick her up. She has lived with me since she was a kitten. My daughter's friend could not keep her. She is 5 years old and the sweetest cat.

Wow, good for Puffer! Glad to see that he has recovered and been released. But the story is not accurate. I was on the snorkeling trip that found puffer, and Emily and Ben Graue did not discover the turtle. My wife, Christina Strong, first spotted the turtle, and she was also the one to discover the pufferfish as we tried to get the turtle onboard. Emily, Ben, and their parents did nothing more than undeservingly claim credit for this rescue!

I can't think of a more deserving couple for a home than a cop and a nurse! During Hurricane Wilma, "Deputy Willie" (who lived a few doors down from me) knocked on my door to alert me to the storm surge, and told me where to move my car to avoid the floodwater. 4 years later, he helped my dad and stepmother (winter residents of Marathon) chase down the man who had stolen my dad's bike. People like Willie are what make Marathon so special. His family may be receiving a second chance from Habitat for Humanity, but the real winners in this story are the citizens of Marathon, who will continue to benefit from the Guerras residency.
